Streamline Research was established in 1996 by John McGuckin, who continues to run the company with a team of technical experts.
John is a limnologist with over 30 years of experience in environmental research. He has widespread aquatic knowledge throughout Victoria and has contributed to the development of environmental flow applications. He was an expert on the Scientific Panel for the Environmental Flow Assessment for the Campaspe and Loddon River basins.
Streamline Research has been a preferred supplier of freshwater aquatic services to Melbourne Water and VicRoads over the past two decades. In close proximity to Melbourne, Streamline Research has surveyed every waterway from the Little River to the Lang Lang River. In addition, work has been conducted for many other organisations inclusive of government authorities, local councils and private developers right across Victoria.
Streamline Research has identified hundreds of new habitats occupied by the nationally threatened dwarf galaxias. Many referrals to the Commonwealth have been made on behalf of government departments and developers.
Streamline Research prides itself on being able to customise fish research to meet the unique needs of clients, with reporting specific to each project ensuring natural resources are being adequately protected in accordance with Victorian and Commonwealth legislation.
Hundreds of scientific reports have been written by Streamline Research to the satisfaction of clients and state and federal regulators.
